Eat Local, Cheer Loud: Community Nights Are Back!

Some of the best nights of the hockey season don’t happen at the rink. They happen around a table, with a slice of pizza in one hand and a schedule in the other, while kids from three different teams compare stick tape and argue about who has the best goal song.

That’s the spirit behind RAHA Community Nights. A handful of times each season, local businesses partner with the association and give back a share of the evening’s sales. You get dinner, a pint, or a little shopping. RAHA gets support for ice time, equipment, and scholarships. Everybody wins, and nobody has to cook.

How it works

Pick a night, show up, and enjoy yourself. Some partners track sales automatically during the event window. Others ask you to mention RAHA when you order, or to show the event email at checkout. Each event listing on our calendar spells out exactly what’s needed, so check it before you go.

Takeout often counts too. If your evening is already booked with practices, grabbing dinner on the way home is still a way to show up for the program.

Why it matters

Youth hockey is not a cheap sport, and RAHA works hard to keep it within reach for every family in Rosemount. Ice rates climb every year. Goalie gear wears out. New coaches need certification and clinics. Every dollar raised at a Community Night goes back into keeping registration fees steady and opening doors for families who might otherwise sit out a season.

Just as important, these nights connect us to the businesses that make our community what it is. Many of our partners are owned by hockey parents, former players, or neighbors who simply love seeing a sea of green and gold walk through the door. When we fill their dining rooms, we’re telling them their support matters.

Make it a team night

The best Community Nights feel like a reunion. Coordinate with your team manager and pick a time to meet up after practice. Invite grandparents, neighbors, and that coworker who keeps asking how the season is going. Wear your Irish gear so other families can find you, and snap a photo for our social channels while you’re there.

New to the association? This is one of the easiest ways to meet other families before the season gets busy. Nobody needs to know your kid’s position or level. They just need to know you’re part of the Irish.

See you there

Upcoming Community Nights are listed on the RAHA calendar and shared in our weekly emails and on social media. Mark a few on your calendar, bring an appetite, and help us make this season one to remember.
