RAHA BOARD MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a working board. The success of RAHA is incumbent on Board members committing to attending board meetings, serving on committees and doing work outside of board meetings. Board members are required to serve on and actively participate on multiple committees, in addition to their position on the board. Board members are required to attend 20 of the 24 regular monthly meetings during your two-year term as well as attend the tryout meetings in October, any special board meetings called and regularly attend assigned committee meetings. The anticipated time commitment is approximately 15-25 hour per month. In addition, board members will be required to use MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint in their positions and be able to use email.

RAHA Board meetings are the second Wednesday of each month.

Responsible for the day-to-day activities of RAHA’s charitable gambling operation and ensure the organization is in full compliance with all statutes and rules related to Minnesota Lawful Gambling.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Bank Account
    • Make weekly bank deposits
    • Pay monthly gambling activity-related expenses
    • Deposit gambling receipts
    • Obtain authorization for all expenditures
    • Ensure all receipts and disbursements are properly accounted for and in compliance with statute and rule requirements
  • Reporting & Paperwork
    • Maintain an organized filing systems of all paper trail and receipts for monthly activity
    • Reconcile inventory records monthly and record perpetual inventory
    • Collect paperwork from all closed pull tab games and upload into our software management tool
    • Download and upload all electronic gaming activity into our software management tool
    • Ensure required reports are properly filed with all government and legal entities
    • Present monthly gambling reports for review and approval at each board meeting
    • Submit all paperwork into the MN Gambling Control Board and the MN Dept of Revenue
  • Gambling Site(s)
    • Weekly site visits to check on employees and collect electronic gaming activity cash
    • Supervise gambling employees, including hiring, firing and managing
    • Add additional sites when directed
    • Maintain a good-standing relationship with bar managers/owners
    • Determine the products to be purchased and put into play
    • Review and monitor the conduct of games
    • Maintain gambling activity inventory and equipment maintenance
    • Ensure illegal gambling is not conducted at permitted premises

  • Collect all the money, tie it out and deposit it at the bank.
  • Get Change from the Bank (quarters,dollars, etc..)
  • Attend board meetings to report sales numbers, dibs coverage and any other items upcoming
  • Organize the items that have been delivered by our Vendor (restocking)
  • Go to Sam’s Club, Aldi, Kwik Trip and T-REX cookies to pick up other items that we order regularly.
  • Organize receipts for accountant
  • Make sure the stand is clean and organized after each event

Dibs Manager

Create all Dib slots for concessions throughout the season

  • Review Dibs on a weekly/monthly basis (ensuring shifts are covered and communicating with volunteers about cancellations & reschedules)
  • Create Sign in Sheets for all the volunteers
  • Reach out to board and others if open shifts are still available to get coverage
  • Work with the Boosters to sell different apparel items at the stand
  • Work with Other Vendors for cups and choppers to sell at the stand

Purchase Manager:

Order from Vendors (weekly)

  • Take inventory of what is being used and when to order more
  • Monitor inventory on Square Machine
  • Setup with Vendors at beginning of season & machines to deliver
  • Close up stuff with Vendors for end of season
  • Manage costs of items and work with other manager to determine prices & changes

The Ice Scheduler is responsible for the procurement and management of ice sessions from local arenas (subject to Board approval). Ice Scheduler supports the operation of the association by developing procedures on the use and allocation of ice for all teams and for maintaining a positive relationship with the local arenas and District 8.

The Ice Scheduler works in the best interest of the entirety of Rosemount Area Hockey Association.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Procure and negotiate ice from local rinks
  • Develop recommended policies/procedures for ice allocation to the board for approval
  • Develop and manage the association’s ice budget in accordance with RAHA Accountant and RAHA Board
  • Schedule practice sessions, ensuring fair and adequate distribution among teams, per level
  • Schedule District 8 league games, which may require adjusting already scheduled practice sessions
  • Review and approve invoices for the use of ice and officials
  • Sell any unassigned ice to reduce financial loss to the association
  • Update schedules on the association website and communicate with board, coaches or team managers when necessary
  • Provide monthly and annual reports to board regarding ice utilization, present at monthly board meetings
  • Review all practice/game schedules
  • Attend District 8 meetings as required

This is a 12-month contract position that requires approximately 4+ hours each week. May jump to 10+ hours per week during peak activity times.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the on-and-off ice developmental activities of all RAHA players.
  • Works as an integral member of the Hockey Development Committee (HDC) to determine the objectives and needs for player development by attending and helping to lead HDC meetings.
  • Research, design, update, and recommend on-and-off ice training development programs to the HDC.
  • Identifies online and digital developmental resources and works with the Communications Director to share with RAHA players.
  • Conducts in-season meetings with coaches, as needed, to share developmental goals and tactics.
  • Works as a member of the HDC to determine the objectives and needs for coach development and to organize resources and programs to fulfill those needs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have an advanced knowledge of the game of hockey including, but not limited to, development of all ages, skills, and abilities of players.
  • Must have an ability to dedicate time, or resources, to on-and-off ice instruction for coaches and players when necessary.
  • Must understand available hockey resources to use and an ability to make strategic proposals to the HDC for player development.
  • Due to the expectation of time, the Hockey Development Coordinator cannot be a RAHA board member or Head Coach of any RAHA team; they can be an Assistant Coach.
