D8 Does not cancel games due to weather and the decision to cancel a game is the responsibility of the teams. Every attempt should be made to keep a game scheduled, but in the event of horrible weather conditions, the following steps should be made:
DAY OF GAME CANCELLATIONS SHOULD BE DONE 3 HOURS PRIOR TO GAME START OR BY 1:00PM AT THE LATEST.
1) Coordinate with the other Coach or Manager to come to an agreement on the cancellation.
2) A Member of one of the teams needs to IMMEDIATELY go out to the D8 Game change form and CANCEL the game using TBD for the reschedule when asking for new game details.
3) As Back-Up, Make sure to CALL or TEXT and also EMAIL both Paul and Sean identifying Yourself, Your Team, Your Associations, Game Date, Time, Level, Rink and Teams that the game has been cancelled so they can contact the scheduled refs. If No Answer, you should send out text messages to both.
4) The Home Coach or Manager should work with their ice scheduler and opposing team to figure out a new date for the game reschedule.
